Broward commissioners look to save library eatery

For most of the 15 years she has run a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale's downtown library, Ymelda Luna Singh said business was as robust as the portions she served.

But a combination of factors, including a sagging economy, a slow-motion renovation project at the Main Library, a growing homeless population in nearby Stranahan Park and the near exhaustion of her own savings, have taken a toll. In a letter to the library director, the single mother of two announced that at the end of this month she will close Charcuterie Too, the eatery founded in 1986.
